Laurier COVID-19 Update

As you know we’ve been providing more frequent updates as the situation with COVID-19 evolves.

Wilfred Laurier University has cancelled all classes and will be closing their campus next week. Earlier today the Ontario Government also announced that all public gatherings of more than 250 people should be cancelled.

However, our senior team has been in contact with WLU and we still anticipate that the St. Patrick’s Day event will proceed because the event is not a university-sanctioned event and is not formally organized so there are no organizers to contact or to make the cancellation decision.

Your health and safety is our number one priority. We have put measures in place to help protect you while working. All guards will be required to wash your hands with soap and water prior to deployment, during your breaks, and prior to leaving. We will be issuing latex gloves for you to wear during your shift. We have hand sanitizer available for you and our Supervisory personnel and Patrol Squads will be checking in on your regularly throughout your shift.

If you show signs of any symptoms or are feeling sick, please contact me immediately and stay home in self-isolation for 14 days. Do not come to work! We cannot risk the health and safety of you, the rest of our team, and the public.

Northwest is committed to protecting the health and safety of our employees and is actively monitoring the situation, taking necessary precautions and planning for any developments.

Thank you!
